Great Product for Killing Fleas on your Dogs and Cats!

Petcor Flea and Tick SprayTrying to kill fleas on your dog or cat? Petcor Flea and tick spray is a great product to do so. My dog and myself have benefited from this great product as it provides around 2 months of continuous flea control with each application.

Petcor Advantages and Directions:

Petcor Flea and Tick Spray is a safe synthetic flea and tick killer for dogs and cats over the age of 6 weeks. When applied it can last up to 63 days providing around 2 months of flea killing power. Petcor is inexpensive at about $14.95 for a 16 oz bottle compared to vet medications that cost up to $80! Petcor is also super easy to apply (explained below). If your dog is getting eaten up by fleas, wait no longer, you owe it to them to get a product that will effectively get rid of their fleas and you owe it to yourself not to have to pay an exterminator to treat your house after the infestation has moved from your pet to your home. My dog Hoover has greatly benefited from Petcor because not only does it kill fleas currently on him it also prevents new fleas from infesting him.

Directions on Applying Petcor:

A light even coverage on your pet will provide effective flea control. For the best penetration, ruffle your pets fur against its natural lay and spray, this allows the Petcor to get down deep where the fleas like to be. Be sure to covers your pets eyes with your hand as you spray. The general rate at which to apply is 1 to 2 sprays per pound of body weight on your pet. If you have a large dog spray the dog down until damp, not saturated. Petcor can be re applied weekly if needed. If you are treating a puppy or kitten, lightly spray a towel with Petcor and wrap your puppy or kitten in it for 5-10 minutes.

How to Choose a Pesticide Sprayer

How to choose a Pesticide Sprayer

According to PestMD.net If you are going to do your own pest control you will need a good pesticide sprayer, one built to last several years and comes equipped with viton seals and gaskets, a better spray wand and no drip spray tip, some even have replaceable parts and more rugged construction.

Sounds like I just described the B&G Classic Professional pesticide sprayer used by professional Exterminators nation wide. But there is an alternative to that expensive $250 sprayer. It’s inexpensive but has many of the desirable sprayer options that make your job turn out better and the price is well afforable. Follow this link to learn about the B&G Home Professional Sprayer.

Garden sprayers or sprayer purchased at the local Hardware store aren't made for pest control products. Usually using a pesticide in a sprayer with plain rubber seals and gaskets, some element or combination of elements, cause the gaskets and seals to swell, and finally close. This sprayer is now useless, alas money wasted.

Pesticide Sprayer Tips

Your pesticide sprayer should be able to Focus a Pin Stream and a Fan Spray Pattern. With an adjustable tip. Or changeable tip.

INDOORS: Most chemical products call for crack and crevice treatment indoors. You are looking for fine placement of product here. Putting it right where you want it, with little or no over spray anticipated.

OUTDOORS: Although your pin stream will come in handy treating outdoor home pest entry points, you need the fan spray even more outdoors. Use fan sprays for lawn sprays, outside woodwork, and shrubbery sprays.

The B&G Classic Sprayer is the first choice of most professional pest providers from coast to coast. It is a precise piece of equipment that may last up to 30 years or more. All parts are replaceable and rebuild-able. They allow for precise placement  It’s a stainless steel and brass beauty. The bad news is they cost over $250 so most homeowners do not use them. The good news is B&G makes a good homeowner model available to the general public at an affordable price. Take a look at the B&G Home Professional Pesticide Sprayer here.

Stable Flies, health risks and how to control them

Stable Flies, health risks and how to control them

Stable FlyStable Fly Health Risks:

Have you ever been bitten by a fly?  Most poeple think it might be a common house fly but that is a common misconception.  Sable Flies and House Flies look very much alike in color, size, and appearance. Stable flies will feed from almost any warm blooded animal.  Stable flies like to feed in the early morning and late afternoon and can feed more than one time per day.  The flies also prefer to feed outside,  they are rarley found feeding or resting indoors.  Stable Flies love to swarm areas like live stock pens, barns, cattle ranch, and other places where livestock are, feeding on the live stock, causing painfull bites that can irratete the animal and causing the animal to stomp furiously, which can injure the animal.  Stable flies like to feed on the legs and ankles of horses, cattle and humans, but for dogs and swine they like to bite their ears, for easy access to the blood meal.  Stable flies can transmitt blood bourne pathogens, equine infectious anemia and anaplasmosis to humans and animals so control is of the utmost importance.

How to Control Stable Flies:

To control Stable Flies the first thing you need to do is eliminate key breeding factors for the stable flies.  Remove access to food, water, and harborage to the fly.  Wet or damp piles of decaying matter can be a breeding ground for these damaging flies.  Sanatation and thorough handling of animal waste products is a key factor in control as well.  After you have all of that done you can move on to treating the problem with residual pesticides and pheremone stirps.  Suspend Sc is a great product to spray the perimeter down with and lasts around 90 days.  Use Catch Master Gold Sticks to attract flies in and catch them using pheremones.  Use CB-80 Aerosol for a super quick knockdown and kill.
